A Heartfelt Tribute: PDP Pays Condolence Visit to Governor Umo Eno

Yesterday, Saturday, 23rd November 2024, at about 8 pm, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State paid a condolence visit to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, at his country home in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area. This visit was a sincere expression of sympathy and support to the Governor and his family following the passing of his beloved wife, Her Excellency, Pastor Patience Umo Eno.

Led by Rt. Hon. Aniekan Akpan, the State Chairman of PDP, the visit featured all the PDP state exco members and the 31 chapter chairmen. Speaking on behalf of the Party, the State Chairman offered words of comfort and assurance to the Governor and his family. “Our prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time,” he said. “We also assure you of our continuous support, as we stand by you in this moment of grief.” He commended the Governor for being strong despite his grief, noting that some people would have allowed their pain to affect their work, but Governor Eno has continued to manage the state perfectly.

In response, Governor Umo Eno thanked the PDP for their condolence visit, expressing his gratitude on behalf of his family. He also promised to dignify the party, acknowledging their unwavering support during this challenging time. The Governor was accompanied by members of his family, the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Sen. Dr. Akon Eyakenyi, and other top government officials.

Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno was a remarkable woman whose legacy of service, compassion, and kindness will continue to inspire and motivate us all. She was a strong advocate of women’s inclusion in government, which led to the effective representation and involvement of many women in government across the state.

As we mourn her passing, we take comfort in the knowledge that her memory will live on in our hearts and minds. We pray that God will grant our Governor , his family, and the people of Akwa Ibom State the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

Once again, the PDP expresses its deepest condolences to Governor Umo Eno, his family, and the people of Akwa Ibom State. May the soul of Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno rest in peace.
