GOVERNOR UMO ENO RECEIVES IBIONO IBOM AKHA LAWMAKER BACK INTO PDP
…RESTATES TOTAL TRUST IN PDP AS PLATFORM FOR EMERGENCE OF CREDIBLE LEADERS

Akwa Ibom State Governor and Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in the State, Pastor Umo Eno has officially received the Member Representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Moses Essien back into the PDP.
Hon Essien was elected into the State Assembly on the platform of the Young Progressives Party (YPP).
The Ibiono Ibom State Constituency Lawmaker was first led to the PDP State Secretariat Complex by the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong, and the leadership of the 8th Assembly, where the lawmaker was presented to the State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Members of the State Working Committee and the Leadership of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly later proceeded to formally present Hon. Moses Essien to the Governor and Leader of the Party, Pastor Umo Eno.
Speaking shortly after formally receiving Hon. Moses Essien back into the PDP fold, Governor Umo Eno said he has absolute trust and confidence in the Peoples Democratic Party as the platform on which he received the overwhelming support and votes of Akwa Ibom people to lead the state, stressing that he will continue to accord top priority to the pursuit of development ends that will better the lives of Akwa Ibom people.
Governor Umo Eno said “I am totally committed to leading an administration where we expand the bandwidth of opportunities and possibilities available to Akwa Ibom people and also ensure that their lives are better as a result of our programmes, policies and interventions. As one privileged to lead the PDP in Akwa Ibom State, I commit to standing with our elders and stakeholders and of course members to build a strong party that will continue serve as the most preferred platform for the emergence of leaders.”
Earlier while presenting the Ibiono Ibom State Constituency Lawmaker to the Governor, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong said the Ibiono Ibom Lawmaker had communicated his decision to return to the PDP at Tuesday’s plenary, stressing that it was important to bring him to the Party.
Speaker Otong said “Hon. Essien has been a team player and a strong admirer of the orderliness in the PDP and most importantly, the sterling leadership style of His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno. This is why he said it was expedient for him to therefore come over and join us in support the PDP and also contribute to actualising the Governor’s ARISE agenda.”
In his remarks, State Chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Akpan commended Hon. Moses Essien for what he called his bold resolve to return to the PDP fold, stressing that the ARISE agenda of the Governor Umo Eno needs the support and solidarity of all Akwa Ibom People.
The Akwa Ibom PDP helmsman said “Aside from constantly expanding the capacity of coverage of the Umbrella of the PDP in Akwa Ibom State, we have deliberately kept our doors open for the remnants of Akwa Ibomites in the opposition parties to empty into the PDP. The PDP remains that credible platform for the emergence of leaders.”
The Ibiono Ibom State Constituency Lawmaker Hon Moses Essien who said he was motivated by the inclusive disposition of Governor Umo Eno in governance, noted that he is back to contribute his quota to the actualization of the ARISE agenda. He assured the leadership of the Party of his total loyalty.
Director-General of the Pastor Umo Eno/Akon Eyakenyi Campaign Organisation, Chief Assam Assam, SAN had in the event also learnt his voice in welcoming Hon. Moses Essien back to the PDP fold and urged him to devote even more vigour to work for the PDP.
Highpoint of the event was the handing over of the Ibiono Ibom Lawmaker, to the Political Leader of Ibiono Ibom Local Government who is also the Commissioner of Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong.
