EASTERN OBOLO TO HAVE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION CENTRE

… As massive endorsement of PDP, Umo Eno, continues

More investments in education and man power development have been promised the people of Eastern Obolo Local Government Area, as preemptive move to prepare the people of the area for the impending industrial evolution particularly in the extractive and manufacturing sectors.

At governorship campaign rally of PDP in Okoroete, Eastern Obolo, Monday January 9, the gubernatorial standard bearer, Pastor Umo Eno, who was appreciative of the warm reception given him, pointed that the area holds great potentials, promising to increase investment in education in the area particularly in vocational education for human resources development, adding that when voted into office, he will site a vocational school in Eastern Obolo.

in his words, “it is about determination, it is about competence, it is about character and above all, compassion. Without compassion, a leader cannot serve. I have compassion and I am here to tell you what I will do for you.”

“I want to tell Eastern Obolo that you have a petrochemical plant, you have fertilizer plant and you will have more, but all you need now is human empowerment. We must prepare our children to take advantage of the opportunities available and the ones to come.”

“We will train our children and get them certified in pipeline welding and other skills needed for these industries. While they are building factories, I’ll be sending you for training. As the factories and the plants are ready for commissioning, you will be back from training and well equipped to work.”

“We must prepare you for the jobs that are coming to Eastern Obolo. Eastern Obolo will be opened up. I am going to invest in education in Eastern Obolo and we will make sure that we prepare our students for the industries that are coming. We will site a technical school in Eastern Obolo. We will also support the main occupation here which is fishing.”

Governor Udom Emmanuel speaking through the Deputy Governor, Mr Moses Ekpo, also implored the people of Eastern Obolo to continue supporting PDP which he said will remain a trusted party and ever committed to see to the development of the area.

Commending the unflinching support of Eastern Obolo people to PDP, the state chairman of the party, Rt. Hon (Elder) Aniekan Akpan, who presented candidates of the party to the people, encouraged them to keep on supporting PDP and vote candidates of the party at all levels at the general elections.

Others who spoke included Dr. Charles Mbong, Eastern Obolo council boss, Hon. Abraham Odiong, Ikot Abasi/Eastern Obolo State House member who is also the party’s candidate for Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency seat, Rt. Hon. Uduak Ududo, the state assembly candidate, Mrs Selina Isotuk and the Senatorial District candidate, Rt. Hon. (Barr) Ekong Sampson.
